Final Project Topic

I've chosen to go with social justice in mathematics. It is where social and economic issues meet mathematics in the classroom. It sounds like an interesting concept, however, there are questions to be asked.

It'll be interesting to see what the benefits are, but also if the benefits are so good, why haven't more schools start using social justice mathematics?

How does a teacher implement social justice mathematics in their schools?

Can they fullfill the standards of NCLB and other state standards?

Is this just another short term method?
